▶ URL to be announced
This webinar is open to Adastra users willing get started with Guix, which was recently made available to all. It is the first of a series and will cover the essentials of Guix.
Being a software deployment method, we will see how it can be used as a substitute for other methods you may already be familiar with: environment modules, Spack, pip, CONDA, but also Singularity. The salient feature of Guix is its ability to redeploy the exact same software environment on different machines and a different points in time.
This first webinar of Guix will focus on its first use on
Guix;
will will discuss important concepts, the creation of one-off
environments with guix shell and common pitfalls to be aware of, using
channels, and spawning an MPI process.
Compute nodes will be reserved for this session so users can try things
out. Please register by October, 26th by emailing svp@cines.fr
with “Guix Adastra Webinar” as the subject.
